Constructive Parenting – Parent Therapy in Charlotte, NC
Understand Yourself. Transform your parenting.
You know parenting is hard. Lately, you’ve noticed something: you’re reacting in ways you didn’t expect. You lose your temper faster than you want to. You shut down when you mean to connect. You find yourself yelling, and afterward you feel guilt or shame about how it happened.
You are not alone, and nothing about this means you are doing it wrong. All parents have these moments. And all parents can learn and grow.
Together, we can slow things down, understand what’s underneath these reactions, and help you respond in ways that feel more calm, connected, and aligned with the parent you want to be.
What we actually work on
I work with parents who are motivated and genuinely want to do things differently. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, I help you understand your own emotional reactions—not just manage them. We identify what triggers you, understand where those patterns come from, and build your capacity to respond with intention rather than react.
Here’s why this matters: You’re with your child every day. Your presence and regulation directly affect theirs. As you understand yourself better and respond with more intention, your child experiences that shift. Often, that’s exactly what they need.
What if your child needs additional support?
Many families find that parent therapy is the right place to start—especially when behaviors are primarily happening at home. Sometimes, as you grow in your own work, it becomes clear that your child would also benefit from direct support. Maybe they’re working through anxiety, processing something difficult, or developing their own regulation skills. In those cases, child therapy can be a really helpful addition. I offer both, so your family gets what it needs.
Is this right for you?
